I have found that the contactor can be 'jumpered' quite easily, the big issue here is 'will the gun take all of that heat'?
A water cooled gun may be the best here, as a 600 amp air cooled gun is about the same price, and it will get uncomfortably hot when using it. A water cooled gun will stay cool to the touch when using it at high amps/ high duty cycle.
