I have to weld ASTM A743 WITH SS316. I have no scope for solution annealing.Can i go with sprinkling the water as soon as the welding is finished in each weld.

Please suggest

Hey Sambuddha,
Quenching with water is not the same as heat treating. Heat treating will restore the mechanical properties of the base metal.

Quenching with water may cause undesirable effects on the weld/HAZ. Odds are, you might get solidification cracking due to rapid cooling if you sprinkle water on it.
