Hi , I have a doubt regarding the standard EN ISO 15614-2 . As per our requirement we need to weld EN AW-6061 ( group 23.1) to EN AW-6061 (group 23.1) and EN AW -6061(group 23.1) to EN AW-5754 (group 22.3) . Now the thing is, if i qualify a WPS for base material 23.1 to 23.1 will this be enough to qualify WPS for base material 23.1 to 22.3. As far as my understanding of Table 4 of standard EN ISO 15614-2:2005 i guess i would need a seperate WPS for that combination. Please help me with this .

PQR of group material 23.1 to 23.1 is able to support dissimilar joint group 23.1 to 22.3 (i.e. Table 4), but you will need a separate WPS to indicate Al-Mg filler material to be used.

Hi joey,
Thanks for the reply . But still in the table i cant find anywhere written like that. It is mentioned combinations between 22.1,22.2, 22.3 and 22.4. which means among them , but not like 23.1 to 22.1,22.2, 22.3 and 22.4.  ?? for example in  table 4 , group 26 to 26 its clearly mentioned for dissimiliar joint range like 26 to any of 24.1 , 24.2 or 25.

You're correct, it seems need to qualify the dissimilar joint materials you mentioned.
