Hello. I am new to the forum.
I have an older Linde Sigmette. Probably 60's? It is a GMAW welder removed from military service. it is designed for aluminum welding with a spool gun. 0-100 amps, 115v input. It seems that it "does not exist" from all of my research. Any information would be useful.
Here is the "technical" part. When i turn the power on, the machine automatically feeds wire. When i pull the trigger, It stops feeding wire. This is set up with a Linde ST-4 type spool gun, which also seems to not exist. If it were designed like this, i would expect a trigger lock. There is no trigger lock. It seems the purpose of the switch was reversed... I was wondering if this is just a bad design, or is there some sort of wiring issue? If it is a wiring issue, how is it repaired? Does anyone else have one of these? Is there any manual or schematic there is access to? Is there a similar model out there?
Thanks
Bill
