Im looking for info on joint configuration for an all weld metal tensile test sample. I am either not looking in the right place, or the codes are very vague in explaining joint layout for all weld metal. I have seen A36 plate buttered with filler metal in question and I have considered buying actual plate in the alloy of filler metal to be tested. I know the angle is 45 degrees all included, but I cant find thickness, root gap, root landing. I always assumed it was the same as cladding with the filler and the sample would be machined from the cladding block. Any info would be appreciated.
