Looking for advice on the following condition.  Final part is a 1040 investment cast component with a hardness of about HRc 50 welded to a 2x2x3/16  by 6 inches long A500 tubing.   Which process sequence would be best.    Heat treat the cast pc then weld the tube on or weld the tube on then heat treat.  The casted pc will be subjected to hammer blows via pcs of kindling and the tubing pc will be anchored.
