Hi All, I need some advice from you guys.
I am qualifying a butt joint welding procedure by welding 5mm thick ENAW 7020 Aluminium plate using ER5087 Tig Wire.
I can get a very good weld reinforcement without any defects but the radiographic test results showed porosity all along the weld.
I have taken care all the procedures that need for welding aluminium such as cleaning using acetone, remove the oxide layer etc.
I even set up a full covered shelter to block the wind.
Below are my parameters:
Current: 120A, - 140A
Voltage: 14V - 15V
Preheat Temperature: 250 degree C
Gas flow rate: 11 - 13 litter/min
Current: AC
Travel Speed: 80 - 120mm/min
Tungsten Size: 2.4mm dia
Anything I can improve on it?
