[img][/img]Experts - Please advice on the acceptable coloration of Inconel 625 weld that cannot be pickled in the root area in production.

for welders it is correct and the best:yell::twisted::evil::cool:

Depends on the inspection criteria found in your guiding specifications.

Inco 625 being used in a turban hot section or compressor would probably not consider color on the weld root, face or HAZ in the inspection criteria.   AWS D17 certainly does not.

In fact in many jet engine hot sections, the tenacious oxides on super alloys are considered beneficial.

But so far you are the only one in the room who knows what your weldment does and the servive conditions that go along with it.
