Hey guys,
does a square groove weld symbol with no size or depth designation automatically default to a CJP?
it shows a square groove weld on arrow side but does not specify size, depth, opening, backing, back gouging or anything.

Hi CWI-BRI,
Take a look(read) AWS A2.4:2012 Clause 7.2.2
Complete Joint Penetration. Omitting the depth of groove, "D", and groove weld size, "S", dimensions from the welding symbol requires a groove weld that extends through the thickness of the joint [see Figure 12(D) and (E), Figures 18 and 19, as well as Annex D7.2.2].
