Up Topic Welding Industry / General Welding Discussion / Can we repair an already brazed crack by TIG welding on it

We have tried to repair  cracks in aircraft turbine shroud parts by vacuum brazing. However these have failed again soon in service. Can we repair them again by TIG welding on the brazed portion. Please also advise if welding can be done on a brazed part and vice versa.
Grateful to receive advice

If you remove all the braze first.

"Turbine shroud" can describe many components.

Al's point is essentially correct in that GTAW is really never going to be successful over a braze.

This kind of repair should be done with OEM engineering support.

Knowing the root cause of the cracking, the alloy involved, filler metal selection, heat treatment if necessary are all things that need to be considered.
