Was looking into complying to AWS D14.3 to see what was needed to meet the spec. In section 7.5 in states that "The manufacturer shall be responsible for determing the qualification requirements of personnel who operate equipment that requires only occasional or no observation and no manual adjustment of the controls."

We currently weld all weldments robotically that need to meet D14.3 so is having it robotically welded enough to meet it? Does anyone have any experience with substituting robotically welded items in place of an AWS standard? Are there any standard forms that can be used to prove process? What happens if a minor adjustment needs to be made from run to run due to fit-up of parts? Does this make the process non-qualified then? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
