Hello guys,

I have a problem with welding repair of tube sheet requiring a buildup.
The tube sheet thickness is 150mm, and the groove found is 3mm, therefore i have suggested to use a wps qualified on a test coupon 25mm thickness but the 3rd party reviewed the WPS and didn't accept it,based on ASME IX QW 202.3 b, stating that the base metal shall be the reference for the WPS qualified thickness and not the deposited weld metal, after reviewing the QW 451 i got really confused because now i don't really understand weather i have to make a new PQR with test coupon of 38 mm thickness or not? Can you help me out?:cry::cry:
