Hi,

We want to qualify a welder for pipe welding to ASME B31.3 with STT (Surface Tension Transfer) root and FCAW fill and cap.  Is bend testing required?  Or may we qualify the welder with radiography alone?

I am aware that ASME IX requires bend testing for short circuit GMAW process but not sure about the STT process.
