I'm have trouble with maximum weld size on aws D1.1 under section 3.7.3.2 it states that a maximum single pass fillet weld size for GMAW/FCAW is 5/16, but under TABLE 3.6 it states that a maximum single pass fillet weld in the flat position can be 1/2" with GMAW/FCAW , can someone clarify this for me?

3.7.3.2 applies to weathering steel.
