Opened up a wall to find this hiding inside. Wonder how long this has been here....unwelded? Well, tack welded on two of the four sides.

Don't worry about it. It's got a couple of bolted splice plate that have been working out just fine. :) See Chapter 4 paragraph 5.2 of IGEFGW code. :smile:

It wasn't in my scope of work, but figured the GC might want to know about it. You never know what you'll find on these reno projects. The column was part of the work done in 1998. It stood for all of those years, probably would have made it a few more, but they might want to weld it while the wall is opened up.

I was wandering around the job waiting for the GC to get back from lunch and spotted this column and brought it to  the GC's attention.  He took pics to show the engineer.
