we use .35 and.45 in the shop to weld threadolets and grooveolets on schd 10 and 40. .35 in a esab 250 machine and .45 in a miller 300 amp.
we use c-25 as a shielding gas.th .35 seems to burn alot better than the .45 with less disortion.Is this because of the amperage its takes to burn .35 is less than .45?
also any sugestions related to pipe disortion and ways to correct it
would be helpful.

small beads will distort less than large beads because less heat is put into the material. .045 is good if you want to lay a lot of big beads (1/4" per pass) on heavy plate in flat or horizontal positions. but .035 is a good all around size for everything in all positions.
