Hello,
Recently I've started a new project which requires a lot of thick to thin material (mostly gauge to 1/8" plus) welding. Also, most of the materials I am working are dissimilar....galvenized to mild carbon namely. Been fooling around with reverse and even straight polarity. Oddly, straight seems to run quite good for the applications. Just wondered if anyone else has tried this method, or had any comments. Thanks.

I'd use 1/8 6011 for this. I've found that galvanized welds ok on either A.C. or straight with this rod. As I don't have experience with the set-up you are suggesting, I don't know how well it will work.
