I'm looking for a company research facility and / or university to do some dissimilar metal welding / brazing using a stud welder, could be a sponsored or funded project.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, a few names or numbers?

Some possible schools with good welding and/or metallurgy programs that I have seen research from:
Ohio State University
LeTourneau University
Colorado School of Mines
Lehigh University

Also check with Edison Welding Institute (located in Ohio and affiliated with Ohio State, and The Welding Institute (In the UK). There are lots of other commercial labs out there too. Houston happens to have more than thier share of them. You also might check out some consultants like Microalloying (also in Houson).
