I am looking for a wire welder that i can use on thin steel such as 14 or 16 guage and not have to worry about burning through. I have used regular 220 wire welders on that steel but when i would turn it down enough to where it wouldn't burn through, the bead would not lay flat enough for my liking. If you could help me out that would be great.

The mentioned material can easily be welded with .024 diameter wire. However, .035 or .045 can also be used, but may require trigger manipulation depending on fitup and position.

I like to keep the wire speed at the low end of the acceptable range for the voltage I'm using. If you can set the work up to weld vertical down you may improve your result. Smaller wire should be easiest. The input voltage to the machine should not be a factor. Those new pulse machines are said to be nice for this (I've never used one) but I don't think you will find that necessary.
Good luck
Bill
