I had another inspector ask me today if I had ever heard of an E189 cert. for RT. I have never heard of this before. He says that it had something to do with the Core of Engineers. He was looking at trying to pick up a new account, and the costumer said that the RT level II's would also have to be E189 certified. Does anyone else know what he's talking about? I sure don't.

Thanks
Chuck

I think he may mean CP-189, which is a fairly new standard issued by ASNT. It has more stringent requirements for training and experience. It also requires Level III individuals to hold a valid ASNT Level III certificate in that method. On the other hand I could be wrong.

I think your right. I will let him know so he can further research it. He must have misunderstood who ever he was talking to. Thanks for the help. This site hasnt let me down yet. Its nice to know I have somewhere to go, when no one else has the answer. :)
