I know there is several places in LA. & TX. won't take CAWI's as of the first of the year. Must a CWI or have API cert's.

I haven't heard anyone mention anything like that. Of course that doesn't mean anything, I'm the last to hear about alot of things here at work. :)

Are you refering to gettiing rid of the CAWI status or one of the codes not accepting a CAWI for performing inspections?

I haven't heard anything.

Last week I over head another CWI at our local AWS section meeting mention it to another person. I didn't want to question him at the time cause I didn't know anything about it, I figured I'd come here and get the real low down. I believe you guy over anyone else. This forum is like my bible I come to it for answers and i believe in it.

EXON in Baton Rouge for one, as of Jan. 1 has replaced all inspecters with CWI's or API's. There were a couple of hands there with nearly 20 yrs. working in inspection, but no certs. ALL GONE NOW. They thought they didn't need the certs.being they were there so long. BACKFIRED didn't it.
