I was wondering if anyone could give me info on distributers of pipe bevelers to be used on 10 in. and under SS pipe.
Our machine shop used to bevel alot of our pipe but they do not have the time any more so we just grind by hand now.
Any name brands, distributers, or suppliers would be appreciated.
thanks in advance

the mechanical type, which carry a torch, made by... hmmm h & h or something, are ok. just ok, nothing special, and you'd have to fit a plasma head to it for ss. for 10" you would use the one with the rotating large gear. they work on a large range of pipe diameters, but require constant operator supervision. on the good side, you can get parts for them easy.
air powered rotary ones (Way more fun) are hideously expensive and make hand beveling look good (cost wise). these have a nice expanding pilot that with the appropriate adaptor set will fix almsot all normal pipe sizes.
there is no cheap way unless you conjure something up youself. the big issue is that pipe is not really all that frikken round, and this skews the bevel.
check ebay first..

TRi Tool, H & S, EH Wachs are manufacturers of this type of equipment.

Here is one page that distributes Wachs http://www.junctiontools.com.au/Pta_Site/Wachs00.htm

I like Tri Tool for pipe and H & S forboiler tubes. Various models exist. They are expensive but I am pretty sure tri tool leases and the others may too.

Tri Tool http://tritool.com/ may help
H & S http://www.handstool.net/
