Does anyone know of a CuNi 90/10 Flux Core Filler material. I suspect there isn't one.

Does anyone have experience with GMAW CuNi 90/10 with pulse. I have an application welding splitter plates into Section VIII Vessels that are in service. Current field process is SMAW and it is torturously slow.

Some welding may have to be overhead so FCAW or pulse GMAW.

Plates are 1" thick. Vessel is 60" diameter. Current repair is SMAW the washed out areas then grind back to original. Considering machining out the end pieces of this splitter and replacing with a new machined piece with a butt welded end prep.

I am open to ideas.

I'm not sure about NiCu specifically, but there are several companies making flux core nickel based filler metal that you might give a try. Stoody and UTP come to mind.

Thanks will check with them

There would be too much copper to allow a flux cored wire's slag system. Stick with pulsed solid wire (GMAW or GTAW.)
