I am looking for a visual inspection criteria for seam sealing of hybrid packages (0.250 in sq up to 1.000 in sq in size). Currently my only method of testing a weld is by performing a hermiticity test (fine and gross leak). My company does not have anybody with any real welding inspection experience. The package material is gold plated kovar and the lid material is either gold plated kovar or nickel. If anybody can point me towards a good reference in this area it would be greatly appreciated.
