Have any of you welding instructors ever calculated the cost of training students per hour?
I'd like to get a general idea on the cost to educate one student for one hour including consumables, base material, classroom supplies and equipment repairs. I've calculated in my shop that last year I spent $1.25 per hour per student,(not including overhead costs, like the building, utilities etc.). Of course we do 95% low carbon steel, very little aluminum or stainless. Just wondering how much the rest of the country or world is spending.
