We need to weld the ends of a dia. .160" wireformed handle together.
can Sae 1010 be used as the filler wire. If so, what negatives can be expected? Thanks.

I guess the answer depends on which welding process you want to use. If GTAW or GMAW, you could probably fuse the ends together with no filler with GTAW or use ER70S-2, -3 or -6. Resistance welding is another possibility. SAE 1010 may work OK, but remember that weld wires usually have deoxidizers added to remove impurities in the weld and you would not have that benefit with 1010 wire.
