17 CN 26
Does any one know the equivalent of this material in ASTM or any other standard or its composition. This is a shaft made in France.

Hi

I can only find a reference to a french material of designation:

17 CND 6

If this is possibly the same material, then it has the following composition:

C: 0.14 - 0.19
Si: 0.15 - 0.40
Mn: 0.40 - 0.60
P: 0.035
S: 0.035
Cr: 1.50 - 1.80
Mo: 0.25 - 0.35
Ni: 1.40 - 1.70

The DIN symbol being: 17CrNiMo6
The German W/Stoff No being: 1.6587

Hope this helps
