Does anyone have any information or heard anything about a new ASME Section 12 coming out soon?

Thanks
Chuck

You may want to look up Sperko Engineering on the net and ask Walt. He is VP for ASME IX and one of the most brilliant engineers I have ever met and had the extreme pleasure of working with. Try www.sperkoengineering.com

Marty, a great link, I added it to my favorites but I didn't see anything about a new section... did I overlook it?

The link was to the Subcommittee XII web page. If you click on Proposed Changes on the lower left corner of the page, then click on the Search This Committee button, you get a list of all the items being worked on for Section XII. The new book section is item BC03-98 and is shown as being approved by the the Standards Committee (B&PV Code Main Committee). I think it must still be approved by the Board on Pressure Technology Codes and Standards before it is published. Probably would be issued in 2005, but I'm not certain.

Hi Chuck

Try this link for more info:

http://www.asme.org/bpvc/bpvc12.shtml

Section 12 is basically about transport tanks for dangerous goods.
