i am making a steel tubing frame using 1 x 1 x 0.062 material. No fancy 45 deg. corners, just square ends. What is a good electrode size and amperage to get a good weld? In the past I have had trouble with this thin tubing.

Also, what temperature should I dry my electrodes to? the ones I have are probably quite wet.

thanks,

I like the 1/16" E6013. The key to the tubing will also be the fitup. Gaps will be a pain. The tighter the better. E6010's may be available in that size too.

What type of electrodes do you have. If they are WET throw them away or let them slowly air dry in a 100 degree or so oven. If they are just damp you can dry them faster but some electrodes(6010, 6011) should not be baked.

Hope this helps
