I am just picking up welding as a hobby and am using a Craftsman 120V Metal Stick Arc Welder with a maximum output of 100 amps. It says on the unit though that it is an infinite amp welder. I am sure it makes sense but if someone could explain how that is possible, and what is the best way to pick up the art of welding, any tips would be great.

Thank you

I think it just means that the adjustment is continuous rather than having descrete stops. Thus there would be an infinity of possible settings.
