I'm new to mig welding and just got a LE 135 Plus.
My questions are:
1, can I weld stainless and aluminum with 100% argon? or aluminum and stainless with a mix? and if so what would the mix be?
2, Aside from cost, is there any reason one couldn't or wouldn't want to weld regular steel with stainless wire?
3, The 135 Plus manual doesn't have settings for welding 20g stainless.
Has anyone out there welded 20g stainless with one of these machines?

Any info would be appreciated, Thanks

In answer to your questions
1, You can weld ally with argon but you get better results with an argon/helium mixture. You cannot succesfully MIG/MAG weld stainless with argon, argon with 2.5% carbon dioxide generally gives pretty good results
2, Dependant on the alloy types you could weld some grades of carbon steel with certain grades of stainless steel filler BUT WHY???????? compared to the cost of carbon steel filler wire stainless steel is astronomically more expensive
3, To succesfully weld 20g stainless and ally alloys with one of these machines is not going to be easy, I take it you are a very competent welder
