I have a reference to A151630 which I believe is an obsolete ASTM standard. It is regarding filler wire for welding of 17-4 stainless. Is there any way to confirm this was replaced by AWS 5.9 Class ER630?

I have no idea what the ASTM spec. is, could not find that one. But I can give you this info from AWS A5.9-93.

*The AWS spec. does not note this is a replacement for any other filler metal (which they often do in the appendices of their specifications).

*Chemistry
16.4 Cr
4.7 Ni
3.6 Cu

*Primarily for welding ASTM A 564 Type 630 PH stainless.

*May be used in the AW or PWHT applications.

*UNS no.: S17480

*Good Luck.
