Upon a specific project where the weld was Ray-X 'ed and did not pass the ABS classification society norm for too much porosity and/or lack of weld penetration for six trial. At the seven one everything was fine...but we are now faced with a possible loss of mechanical properties of the adjacent plates (5083). Are their a possibility of fissuration over time and solicitation since the plate will be situated at the fore peak of a small (25'0'') police vessel with 400 hp engines ? How may times a weld can be reweld for repair without mechanical loss ?

Edwin,

You can expect that there is some mechanical loss.

However, If you repeat this post in the on the Technical board I think you will have better luck getting responces.
