Since no one has posted anything yet, I have one that I use from time to time for brazing different materials, but it there are fillers for welding steel of various types listed on there also.

The links are to the left on this page for the chart I was speaking about.

There are hundreds of sites out there in Googleland.

These two sites give fairly straightforward information:

http://www.jflf.org/papers/default.asp

http://www.weldreality.com/steels_weld_consumables.htm

You should bear in mind that depending on the application, materials and any code requirements that filler materials may be specifically chosen for corrosion resistance, strength etc. No one chart can cover every material process and application.

Other sources of useful information are the ASME weldign and brazing handbook which should give all you would ever need to know about appropriate consumables and also contact the technical dept of the consumable manfacturers.

Visit consumable manufacturers websites - often there is good information there.

Alternatively ask a qualified welding engineer about your specific application and if required make sure that you qualify the weld procedure in accordance with the code.

Good luck!!

Your local welding supply will have charts that you can use for a guideline. Many of those are free for the asking. The internet as was mentioned is another means
