Looks like I'm going to welderless mode with the fan now gone on my 400. Any parts source for this? Shop says $90 to look at it + parts/labor. Thanks

Mostly this will be the fan bearings. See if it will turn, If not almost surely bearings. Take it apart, get the numbers off the bearings, (or take them with you), look up bearings in yellow pages, get replacements, reassemble. Total cost should be around twenty bucks.

Motor turns fine, sometimes with a little help, just very slow. Doesn't seem to be hard to turn by hand. Just won't speed up.

If it turns electrically it could be that the bearings are worn enough that the armature is touching the field. If it tries to go electrically but can't most electrical problems outside the motor are eliminated. Take it out. Take it to any motor repair guy (most auto electric guys can handle it or know someone who can). Even if it's toast a new one from Granger won't be that bad.
