We have a project where we need to join .030" thick 430 SS . It is perforated material on top of it . We have TIG welded it with success as well as TIG brazed it with Si Br. That works, however it is very slow. This is a high production part and would like to speed up the cycle time.
Is there a braze ,paste or a solder that will work well. I would like to use a small trigger operated propane mini-gun for a heat source.

The thin perfed stainless sheet is formed at the edges 90 deg and two of these are fit together and makes a "box". So the area to be joined is a "lap-joint ". We need to place intermittent stitch welds around this.

any advice on how to best proceed would be very helpful !!

For thin metal welding, such as duct work I use Everdure 254 (Miller Product). It is great for welding galvanized material. It is used with tig welding, you need to direct the arc on the rod. It flows on like brazing (very effective and fast). Depending where you are from, you may have to get a similiar product form a different company.
Good-luck.
