What do employers look for when hiring for a weld engineering position aside from having a bs.,and X number of years experience? How long has it taken you to gain the position welding engineer ? Is there any advice that you're willing to share?

Although not an engineer I would expect a prospective employer to be more interested in "things engineered" than "years engineering" although both have their place. A PE license is sure to be a plus. Bill
