hi rangerrod, about 3 years ago I purchased a Reddi-Welder #12500, at
the factory in San Pedro, Ca. since I lived in Long Beach, 5 miles away,
I had them demonstrate it to me on some 1/4" hot roll plate with 2 12vdc batts. and it worked great. Then I said can I try it on some aluminum a couple of pieces of 1/4'' 6061, I did the welding on this to see if there was any tricks to it. 4043 .035 with 100% argon, I was pretty suprised
by the results, hot and smooth after you get the hang of it. My Ready welderII. is converted to use on my Miller Traileblazer 301-G but I could
use it on batteries if needed. the big trick I found with the spoolgun is to
use the power pack for the spool gun motor 24vdc.that plugs into 115vac. I forgot to set my 301-G to cv, and the high open circuit of cc voltage bunt the gun control up. they fixed it for free. I have only done
small jobs with it but I think it great. any questions 714-931-4103 William.
