AWS D1.1 Section 6 Part F states the minimum thickness is 5/16 but also states if the thickness is less than 5/16 you must use Annex K of the D1.1 for UT inspection.Funny thing is AWS D1.1 acceptance/rejection criteria in Annex K(tbl K-1) would require a lot of head scratching.
