Hi,
I just got an old Idealarc 300/300 TIG with high freq. I got it to try my hand at aluminum welding. I've only done MIG and some stick welding but I'm looking for a pedal for this beast. It goes from 2 amps to 300 and I'm really more interested in being able to weld thin stuff like steel sheetmetal with it as well as some aluminum.

Any comments on this old machine? Will it do 22 ga. steel? I have a mig but it blows holes and warps everything.

It's an old one before solid state. I'm actually more of a machinist/hobbiest but I'm excited about trying my hand at TIG welding! It's quite the art from what I understand.
