Aluminum specification

I am looking for the spec. that indicates the length in which the weld should be terminated before it comes upon the edge of the base material.

I think a good place to start would be AWS D1.2/D1.2M:2003, section 4 on fabrication. Hope this helps Bob

ALCOA (the Aluminum Company of America), has issued a comprehensive manual on aluminum welding. If you weld aluminum routinely, get in touch with ALCOA and get one.
