Hello Chet, My name is Rob Hernandez. I was introduced to a cronatron rod about 2 months ago from a friend who had taught my brother some welding and he offereed to show me a lil too. He is a crane mechanic in the L.A./Long Beach Harbor. I just started welding with stick with him and I didnt want cost him money to show me ho0w to weld so i had brought some 7018 rod my brother had and after welding a bit w/that rod he was quite impressed that I was able to strike an arc and lay a bead rather quickly so he said I want you to try this new rod we got its called Cronatron so i said ok. I cant believe what a difference their was, it was like so much smoother of an arc and he was telling me that with your rod it did not contaminate like others. I was very impressed! Chet, would you have any good tips on uphill welding......I'm having a hell of a time welding uphill w/7018 or is there a cronatron rod that would make it easier. Any specifics about uphill would be great! thanks a bunch!
