We are going to try to weld 2 pieces of 660 bronze together. However, noone we have asked so far has had any experience with this. If anyone has any experience with this, could you give us some tips on how best to do it? Thanks.

There is a reason none of your friends have no experience welding 660 bronze.

Heres the bad news:

Soldering and brazing are an option :)

Thanks Lawrence. One of our guys tried cutting a slice of the mat'l off an end and using it as filler with the TIG. He said it looked good in the end, but while he was working, the customer came by, saw what he was doing, and said, "Instead of welding that together, I guess you can use the original piece after all." Go figure.

We have tried using c93200 as flange material, which gets GTAW welded to copper tube.  Used silicon bronze rod, which is mostly successful.  However, we did get too high ofa percentage of cracking in the bronze parts, so reverted back to the original brass.  It appears as though it is doable, but not reliable or recommended.

I myself know absolutely nothing about 660 bronze, but I do know this, when Lawrence starts a post with "There is a reason none of your friends have no experience welding 660 bronze."
I had to laugh.
Sorry.
