Hello,
I have a victor CO 2 regulator that is a new rebuild. I turned it on the other day and hooked it to my craftsman mig welder and the blow-off valve on the reg. went off and the secondary gauge maxed out on pressure. I can't turn it on now and get the blow-off to stay shut. I even added a few shims to the spring and it still blows off. I took everything apart and the diaphragm and gaskets are good. Do I have dirt or something in the pressure valve part of the regulator? I have never run into this before, it has me stumped . I am sure it is simple. Could the welder have something pluuged in it? I would think it is the regulator though.

Any ideas please give your opinion. Don't hesitate thinking that it might not be helpful.

Thanks in advance,
Jackal

It's leaking at the valve that the diaphram controls. Take it back to whoever rebuilt it and ask them to warranty it.
