I work with poles and at the end we form a strip to the flats and tack. Then grind it to a knife edge. Then hang and tack a bi heavy base to it. Well at school i was taught different. Is this safe? There is not a back up strip? You basically hang the base up against the knife edge and tack and do your C weld.... ??? Anyone know if thats correct or even legal???
