Hello all,

I am currently working with a company in Southern California, and we are at a point in a project where we are looking for an external engineering/design firm to help with the design of a weld fixture for us. The design requirements would be to hold four quarter sections of a 120" diameter Ti ring together for welding at the meeting locations of the quarter sections. Does anyone know a design/engineering firms with any experience with large scale welding fixture that I could possibly contact?? Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.

Tell me your mailing address and I'll send you the drawings of several welding fixtures I've used extensively with good results back in my days of erector engineer.
Sorry, they're not in electronic format, so I can't send them by e-mail.

Hi osu45!

This is just a suggestion so, try getting in contact with:
Titanium Fabrication Corporation USA Headquarters in Fairfield, NJ.
Their telephone # is: 973-227-5300, Fax# 973-227-6541
http://www.tifab.com I used to work for them awhile back...
Ask one of their engineers what they use for fixturing a 120" diameter Ti ring... They just might help your situation.
One last note: Ti-Fab is the largest titanium, zirconium, and tantalum fabricator in the world solely dedicated to reactive metals.

Respectfully,
