Does anyone know who used to make Craftsmans AC arc welders???
The reason I ask is for parts reason.

I found one that looks maybe 80's vintage black with red/white front and has in big letter 35-230 on the front.

It has a dual range adjustment on top.
I can get the welder for less than 100 with 2 helmets and various rods. Leads look like they are good shape.

I currently have a 110 hobart 140 mig but need to do some repair on my car trailer and I don't think its up to the task.

If it is just an AC only welder and works why worry about parts since there is typically only a transformer, fan, switch. If it doesn't work then why buy it - you don't want to spend the money to replace the transformer and the other parts can probably by "created/found" in the junk box.

If you are takling about the unit I think you are, it is a 'century'.
They made abit of stuff for the catalog stores maybe 30 years back. No clue if they are still in business.

Lincoln Electric bought the Century division from Clore. They can be reached at 866.236.0044, option 3 for parts.
