Rencently (due to the lack of talent in our area) we've had to open our doors to anyone that can pass the physical portion of our in-house entrylevel weld test. This lead to the hiring of Spanish speaking welders. I'm trying to build a Spanish version of our training presentation (with limited funds) to help train the Spanish speaking welders. The problem is the translation dictionaries I've access to are in neo-Spain. I need welding specific terms such as Undercut, Overlap. Can anyone help?

My knowledge of spanish is very limited so I have no idea if this will do. This is apparently one more word than the free website will do but it should give you an idea. I added a space to entry level and deleted the extra n in recently.

The "CASTI Metals Blue Book: Welding Filler Metals" book has a glossary in English, French and Spanish http://www.asminternational.org/Template.cfm?Section=BrowsebyTopic&template=Ecommerce/ProductDisplay.cfm&ProductID=12161

Thanks for The info, I found a lite version of the bluebook, did not have what I'm needing.
I know that there is a Spanish version of the D1.1, could anyone get me a copy of table 6.1? This table would have the terms that I'm unsure of, listed in the stadardized call out, for example undercut as a weld defect or proper Spanish terminology for fillet weld and overlap.
thanks in advance for the help.

here are some translations of discontinuties of table 6.1
undercut - socavado
fillet weld - soldadura de filete
overlap - traslape, soldadura rolada, rodilla.

this terms are used in the north of the country, so they can have another interpretation in other regions of Mexico.

I have a spanish translation of table 6.1 and there is a spanish version of D1.1 but I don´t remember the name of this code, it was edited as a NOM ( Mexican official Standard) in 1992.

send me a e-mail and I will send you back the table D1.1
