Up Topic Welding Industry / Technical Discussions / MIG Tri-Mix for welding mild steel?

Hey fellas,
I've been stick welding for about a 1.5 years and am moving over to MIG welding process. I bought a 80cf tank full of a "tri-mix" from a local guy and it's been sitting in storage for a couple months. Now that I can afford a MIG welder (Millermatic 210) I was wondering if this mix is acceptable for welding plain old mild steel. 90% of what I weld is mild steel.

I will eventually be able to afford another tank of the appropriate mix but not immediately. The application is for custom lower 4pt automotive subframes.

Thanks,
Rob

There are numerous "tri-mixes" on the market.. some are designed to weld on carbon steel, some are for stainless steel short arc, some are for spray arc, etc.....if you could let us know what the mix is, I am sure we could answer the question a bit better. see if you could get this information.
