I am interested in working for a company that builds and/or repairs LARGE FREIGHT VESSELS in a dry-dock. I'm new to the professional welding world, and I only have experience welding from the local community college (4hrs. a day-3 days a week). My Instructor is a CWI and says he can help me get certified whenever I find out what certification this company needs, if they decide to hire me.
I would like to find out what type of certification(s) will help me GET the job. I welcome any info. or experiences that you guys can share if you think it might improve my chances for getting hired.
I look forward to hearing whatever experiences or advice anyone can give me. Thanks!
